‘The bags under my eyes are Prada and Gucci’

Ever asked a girl what her handbag means to her? The truth is, it aint just a bag! It is an extension of her existence. It is her shielding armor and in some cases its her knight in shining armor. All her secrets and clandestine afffairs lay safely ensconced in that bag! Girl!, aren’t we reading each other right? Yes we are! LOL.

Last month I came across pictures of the sensational pop star beauty Rihanna strutting the duo bagging trend effortlessly , while Louis Vuitton featured the duo bagging trend in their Fall/Winter 2015 Ad campaign. This trend hooked me on, not denying I had a few questions sprinting in my head like ‘Would it be clumsy to carry two handbags? ‘Would it be fun?’ ‘Im I going to look stupid?’ ‘Attention seeker who me? Yes me!.

These questions propelled me to put this trend to test. My mind immediately scanned all the bags that I had been hoarding. I started playing mix and match in my head and eventually on the road!

How did I style the ‘Double Bag Trend’?

The idea is to have two bags that serve as functional bags. Plus, having a weak shoulder helps me split the load in two. Wink wink 🙂

The two different types of hand bags I chose were :

A tan boxy compact sling bag which was good enough to keep my cell phones, a lipstick and a few knick knacks in it.
The second bag was a tan leather tote hand bag. My power bank, keys and some thrift shopping found their place in this one.
Keeping the look very feminine, I teamed my tan naughty boys with a front buttoned down denim pencil skirt.
I tucked in an Aegean blue round neck top.
I threw on an unbuttoned beige shirt dress.
I accessorized my ensemble with an exotic necklace, a gold cuff and my favorite go-to finger rings. And finally ..
I slipped into my peep toes and strapped a belt around my skirt. Voila!

Verdict : I had fun! Like it or not, this trend is fashionable and it can suffice to your necessity for more room while still looking chic. It all depends on your layering skill!
