The saxophone plays in the background, the temperature soars, a glass of Caipiroska rests on my mantle as I kick-start Spring 2016 with the fashion magnet Avirate from the island of sweltering sand and cool waters – Sri Lanka.
Having followed the recent round of runway shows and trends, I was quite riveted by Avirate’s ss16 collection. Bold colors, mosaic prints, monochrome silhouettes, vivid mottled patterns & graphic stripes is what caught my fancy.
1) The Mottled shift Dress
The mottled shift dress is the best pick for spring summer. The amalgamation of vibrant hues sets the mood for some crazy antics. The only thing I was missing here was sultry sand under my feet. Which means Goa here I come!
With a bold dress like that, I chose to keep it minimal. I accessorized it with a brass pendant neckpiece. I stepped into my gold gladiators and off I was basking in the sun.
2) The Monochrome Sheath Bodycon
Femininity at its best! Most women feel that one needs to have the perfect body to wear a body con. The truth is, all you need is confidence.
This body conscious dress or ‘body con’ fits like a fiddle. The horizontal and vertical stripes give an illusion of the perfect hourglass body type. That makes this beauty a winner! The fabric, the tailored structure and the precise fit make this one a must buy! I chose to style my monochrome dress with a pair of metallic heels and matched that with a silver cuff.
