From a bustling metropolis to a beautiful conglomerate of nature and modernity. From the East Coast of Canada to the West Coast! From my brain to my heart! That’s Toronto to Vancouver for me! The 5 hour flight from Toronto to Vancouver was worth every bit. Vancouver made my heart beat in all the right places. The adventurous Capilano suspension bridge park and majestic mountains that I was reading about in a brochure I picked from the Toronto Airport, had got my adrenaline to spun through me but that was not it. Meeting my buddies Kam and Sonam in the Van city was the real deal! It’s astounding how you meet people over social media handles , get to vicariously see their lives in a grid(instagram) and when you actually meet them in person it feels like you’ve known them just like you’ve known old school friends. That’s how it was meeting these two incredibly talented and sought after Canadian stylists and bloggers Kam Singh aka Singh Styles and the bold Sonam Naidu (Sonam Naidu Creative).
We joked, we laughed, fashion and food were a fleeting topic. But most importantly we spoke about our goals and our aspirations. We all had one thing in common and that were our dreams. We envisage that dream. We live that dream. Every waking day!
Mumbai meets Vancouver – Memories

I crafted a few simpleton questions for both Sonam and Kam. So here is your chance to get to know these fiercely fashionable duo a little better. Have fun!
How long back did you wake up and realise Personal styling/Blogging is your calling?
Kam: Unofficially, I’ve been styling family and friends for their special occasions and events for a few years, but it wasn’t until about a year ago when they started pushing me to do something about this talent of mine. That is when I started Singh Styles and realized this is my passion and future.
Sonam : Approximately two years ago I started Sonam Naidu Creative – I’ve always known that eventually I would like to be my own personal brand/entrepreneur of some sort. While prancing around to Bollywood’s infamous ‘Choli Ke Peeche’ with a sofa throw on my head, at the age of five I convinced myself that I will definitely create a niche of my own in the cut throat fashion industry . Although, I never envisioned myself being a blogger or stylist … let’s just say that life is full of all sorts of wonderful, unexpected surprises and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Who according to you today is the most well dressed man/Woman?
Sonam: Those individuals who are unapologetically themselves, embrace self confidence as the best outfit and dress to impress for no one but themselves. I must also mention that the best style accompanied with the most assertive attitude I have ever witnessed has always been on the streets – that’s where the real fashion is.
Kam: There are a couple of factors that makes someone a well dressed man. First and foremost you have to be in-tune with yourself and the clothes that you wear have to express who you are, they have to be able to show your personality. That is when you’ll be able to move in your clothes in a way that will resonate and look natural. Secondly, you have to know some rules of style. You don’t have to follow every single rule; in fact, rules are made to be broken. However, you have to know what looks good on you! Remember, fit is really important.
Describe your personal style ?
Kam: My personality in general is such that I’m always able to see things from different perspectives. I don’t like to reserve myself to just one way of thinking, being, or dressing. So that translating into my style leaves me with my personal style ranging from very street to suave looks. However, what I think people probably notice about my style is that I love mixing things. Whether it’s mixing different styles of dressing to create one look, mixing and playing with different patterns, or mixing and putting together different colours to create an ensemble, I like bringing pieces together to create my own style.
Sonam: Bold, corky, all shades of fierce and a hint of sex appeal. I think my greatest strength is my knowledge and fascination for colors. Whether it be neutrals, bright’s, neon’s or the current season’s ‘IT’ color; I can spent countless hours in front of my mirror playing dress up by color coordinating, blocking or contrasting. On days I feel super adventurous and courageous, I fancy amalgamating western and indian fuses together. Oh the joys of being South Indian …
Who is your fashion/style Icon?
Sonam:Growing up as a little girl I idolized Miss Piggy and Barbie – both icons in their own respective fabulous platforms. I have always admired B-town’s chameleon of style – Kangana Ranaut and of course my fellow wonderful bloggers; y’all are the real fashion icon superstars!
Kam: My fashion/style icon would be any well-dressed, bold, and creative man or woman you’d see on instagram who is flexing their sartorial muscle fearlessly. We live in a society that is so closely knit together with the help of social media and I love being inspired by other well dressed people across the globe.
One Fashion faux pas..
Kam: There’s a list! But like I said before, fit is really important! So let’s say it’s not very pleasing when you see people floating in their clothes.
Sonam :Women who wear leggings as pants… I will never understand why?
One style tip/advise you follow and would like to share with your reader.
Sonam:Focus on setting the trends rather than following them. Wear whatever it is that relays back to what makes you a unique species with a Sonam Kapoor attitude.
Kam: Know the rules, and then go ahead and break them in your own way, create your own style! And wear it with confidence.
If you were to style me, what would you do?
Sonam :A jewel tone colored saree with a ravishing gold choli. I would drape your saree in gold churidar bottoms to show off your amazing (totally envious) legs. Hai hai 😉
Kam: I’d go grab a drink and tell you to run into your closet with your eyes closed and put on whatever you stumble upon. I love your classy-chic style and the way you put everything together.
Fashion Or Style?
Kam: Till this day, I haven’t understood why people always ask Fashion OR Style. Though Style is always more important, you have to realize that we are social beings, living in a society where our emotions and lives are affected by what’s going on around us. Fashion (the right fashion) is reflective of that! You don’t have to follow every single fashion trend, but I can confidently say that Style and Fashion go hand in hand.
Sonam : Style. What matters most is what YOU bring to the table.
